CAMS
gives you all the components necessary to manage every aspect of
a sophisticated and professional classified ad department.
Ad Entry - This is the main window for entering ads. Here users can find
customers, enter new customers, schedule ads, enter payments, price ads
and select classes.
The buttons across the
bottom allow easy access to many functions. CAMS gives you access to everything
you need regarding an ad or a customer without having to go through numerous
windows.
Calendar Scheduling - CAMS enables you to randomly
schedule ads by allowing you to pick any publish days for the month or
year. Simply click on the days desired and they appear on the "run dates"
list. Double-click to remove them. All actions also have command keys
for the "no-mouse"-oriented power user. The calendar also knows your skip
days and won'tallow incorrect insertions..
Ad Copy Entry-WYSIWYG - Two windows are shown open
at the left. In the background is the main ad text entry window. On the
far left you see an actual ad that has been entered. Within the ad you
see the use of Dingbat characters to add visual impact. On the right is
the Utilities menu pulled down to the Dingbats feature. This window allows
you to visually choose a Dingbat character for use within the ad.You can
also see the Hyphenation and Spell Check Features available.
Customer Checking Unlike many other programs,
CAMS automatically warns you of accounts with the same names or phone
numbers by displaying a list. From the list you can add a new account
or search again.
This is also an easy
way to track different ads from the same real estate company.
Credit Checking Whether it's permanent blacklisting
or just that the account is slow in paying, you can set up CAMS to stop,
warn or refuse ad entry for delinquent accounts.
Furthermore, CAMS can automatically sense that an account is not paying
by certain time guidelines you establish. It stops that account's ads
from running until payment is received, thus clearing the credit hold
on that account.
Resolicitation (Callbacks) - see example CAMS pioneered
the interactive callback feature which was later copied by others.
Here you select which
of the searches you would like to use. You can then print a list of matching
ads or interactively call the customers from the screen.
Ease of Movement Users can pull down the CAMS
main menu at any time to quickly access other functions of the program.
You can simply type
the command key and "2" to go to the payment entry screen, or command
key and "3" to enter adjustments. return to features
Taking Care of Good Accounts Although you can default all
customers to being handled separately in billing, it's nice to know that
with CAMS you can also set certain customers to receiving statements,
or only statements.
Individual customers
can be set on different billing cycles. This means you can handle your
steady local business quite differently than your infrequent customers.
Everything happens right in the Ad Entry window. No
switching back and forth to other parts of the program.
Freedom to Bill Select
from a complete range of invoice formats. They all print on inexpensive
plain postcards or paper, straight from your dot matrix or laser printers.
Fit them in window envelopes or save postage with postcards.
The point is, with CAMS,
everyone can precisely suit themselves.
Display Ad Feature CAMS will allow you to schedule,
price, track and bill display ads created in layout programs such as Creator®.
CAMS will then flow the display ads to QuarkXpress® for pagination.
Over 20 Standard Report Pull down the CAMS main menu to Reports and get
an eyeful!
Select one of the
reports and click OK. You will then be asked if you want to see it on
the screen or go directly to the printer.
With CAMS you can also
create your own custom reports!
The Irresistible CAMS Invoice Some of our clients decided
that "CAMS was the one" for them simply by seeing the invoices CAMS offers.
Printed on plain laser paper, these invoices are a major boost to your
image and smooth office operation.
They offer a previous
balance, a full detail of transactions that have taken place during
this billing period, a listing of any payments received and an ending
balance.
All CAMS laser-printed
invoices fit in window envelopes.
See How Sales Are Going This sales report will print
onto your screen in minutes. You can pick your date range sorted by entry/salesperson
so it can be used for commission calculations or other purposes.
The first section
is "issue billed" charges. These are from long-running or TFN ads. Only
CAMS can keep this kind of detail. The "all billed" charges are from
short-run ads that are charged completely at the time they are entered.
The report also shows
"negative sales," in other words, automatic credits to Accounts Receivable
generated when an ad is "edited down" in value.
As usual, although we
can see it right on our screen, it can also be printed after viewing using
the "P" in the upper right-hand corner.
Merge Features The Merge feature in CAMS allows
your remote offices or other papers to take, schedule, price and bill
ads. The user can then send the electronic file of ads to the production
office across town or across the country for incorporation into other

Print Options CAMS
provides four options for production of your classified pages.
1) CAMS Print will
send galleys to any PostScript® printer for traditional cut-and-paste
operations.
2) The PageMaker®
option will produce an electronic file of ads to be flowed to PageMaker
layout software.
3) The XTags option
produces an electronic file with classified and display ads to be flowed
to QuarkXpress®
4) The Ad Director option
is for those papers using pagination software from Managing Editor.
Upcharges With CAMS you can specify any number of
additional choices of items like "Blind Box" fee and apply them during
the ad entry process. Another great way CAMS provides options to build
additional revenue from your classified system.
Utilities Menu CAMS provides easy spell checking
with user definable dictionaries. Hyphenation is available with a simple
menu command. CAMS will automatically place the advertisers phone number
in your ads.
Dingbats Want easy-to-place eye-catching
graphics in your ads? CAMS allows you to choose from a numerous selection
of dingbats and charge the customer for them. A great way to upsell.
Discounts With CAMS you can build standard discounts
based on either a flat dollar amount or percentage of ad. Users can apply
these directly in the ad entry process. This feature allows easy set-up
of your special sales incentives.
Rate Tables CAMS allows for unlimited rate
codes and contract rate tables. These rate tables provide an easy and
flexible tool for accommodating your rate structure.
